Rediscovered Transcendentalist: Caroline Healey Dall by Robin Proud
Caroline Healey Dall was a friend and associate of Emerson, the Alcotts, Theodore Parker, Lucy Stone, and Frederick Douglass. She knew everybody in the Transcendentalist, abolitionist, and suffragist circles of 19th-century Boston. Best of all, she kept a diary from childhood on. Through this literary time machine, we can see the challenges and achievements of our predecessors.
