“Willma’s Fund: Working to Address Homelessness and Housing Insecurity among LGBTQ+ people in Dane County” by AJ Hardie

AJ Hardie will be speaking on Willma’s Fund, a program of OutReach LGBTQ+ Community Center. Willma’s Fund was started in 2011 by Donald Haar (who performs drag as Willma Flynn-Stone) as a way of raising money and working alongside existing homeless services providers to address the unique needs of LGBTQ+ people dealing with homelessness or housing insecurity. Since its creation, Willma’s Fund has given out over $200,000 to over 400 people and demand has only increased in recent years both during and after the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
