“The FUUture of our Faith” by Rev. Matt Aspin
Article II of the bylaws that form the foundation of our Unitarian Universalist Association of congregations is titled, “Principles and Purposes.” Because we are a living tradition and hold the idea that “Revelation is not sealed,” part of our process is to review this section every few decades to ensure they are still relevant, aligned, and agreed upon. The commission assigned this task has released its initial recommendations, which may end up not including our current 7 Principles at all. Join us this Sunday for a review of the work that is being done and the collective decision-making processes our faith tradition uses to ensure our faith continues to evolve over time. Supports the 5th Principle, “The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large”
