Annual Events
Spring Auction
Every year, Prairie hosts an auction fundraiser, during which members and friends sell privileges of coming to an event or activity or meal or service of their making to the congregation, with the proceeds going to Prairie. Learn more about this year’s Auction and how you can help.
Annual Retreat
Each year since 1970, Prairie members and friends have scheduled an annual retreat. These retreats have often been at Bethel Horizons, near Dodgeville. The retreat provides an opportunity for members and friends to join together in nature walks, crafts, discussion groups, games, dancing, singing, meditation—you name it! The highlights of the weekend are the Talent Show on Saturday night and the Sunday morning service featuring a “key log ceremony.”
Dancing the Maypole
On the Sunday closest to May Day, we gather outside of the meeting house to dance the maypole.
Fun for Prairie Families and Friends
Several times during the school year, Prairie hosts social events open to all RE participants in grades K-12 and their invited guests. Keep an eye on the calendar to join us for one of these fun events! Parents can get better acquainted with each other while the kids enjoy extra time with their Prairie friends. Examples include apple-picking, sledding, and museum trips. Families can invite friends. RE Volunteers are invited, too. Watch the RE calendar for more information.
Nifty Gifty – One Sunday in December, students make craft gifts for friends and family using simple materials, assisted by some of our more artistic members.
