“The Last Freie Gemeinde: The Free Congregation of Sauk County” by Nick Schweitzer

Scores of Freie Gemeinde (Freethought Societies) were established by German immigrants to the U.S. starting around the middle of the 19th century. The Free Congregation of Sauk County (FCSC) appears to be the last one remaining. Nick Schweitzer will present its past history, its present situation, and some prospects for its future.

We'll talk about interests, share stories about how we came here, and discuss any concerns and questions. Membership Committee members will briefly share information with you about Unitarian Universalism and Prairie UU Society.
